This course provides an introduction to the concept of the circular economy, with a special focus on its application in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in West Balkans economies. The circular economy offers a sustainable approach to business, focusing on waste minimization, efficient resource use, material reuse, and value creation through innovative business models.

The course is structured into six lessons:

  1. Introduction – An overview of the circular economy and its importance.
  2. Systemic Approach in the Circular Economy – Understanding how different elements interact within circular systems.
  3. Basics of the Circular Economy – Fundamental principles, key terms, and core ideas.
  4. Regulations and Trends – A look at current policies, standards, and emerging directions in the field.
  5. How to Start with CE – Practical steps and tools for implementing circular strategies in SMEs.
  6. Final Lesson – Summary, insights, and next steps.

Upon completing the six lessons, participants must pass a final test to obtain a course certificate, demonstrating their proficiency in circular economy principles and practices.
